This summer Vans Warped Tour will again be just a one hour drive away from Cornwall Ontario! The annual tour hits Montreal on Saturday, July 16th, 2011 at Parc Jean-Drapeau. Bands scheduled to play the 2011 Warped Tour include punk band Unwritten Law, ska band Big D And The Kids Table, hardcore band Abandon All Ships, rock band Hellogoodbye, and pop punk band Simple Plan.
Last year Cornwall Ontario drumming sensation Ryan Leger played Warped Tour (including the Montreal date) with hardcore metal band Every Time I Die. He previously played the tour with punk rock band The Salads.
Ryan Leger recalled how he use to go to Warped Tour in Montreal, not as a performer, but as a music fan. According to Leger, “I started going to Warped Tour in high school when Cornwall used to organize a bus to Montreal every year. There has always been something in my bones telling me if I worked hard enough I’d be doing tours like this one day”.
Some of the Cornwall crew say Leger play last year, because John James Minou Ledoux resurrected the tradition of organizing a bus from Cornwall to Montreal and back. There has been no reports yet whether a bus from Cornwall to Montreal will be organized for this years Warped Tour. Stay tuned!
