2012 Arts & Culture Summit for Cornwall, SDG & Akwesasne!

Have your voice heard by attending the 2012 Arts & Culture Summit and by voting on the SDG, Cornwall and Akwesasne Arts & Culture Council's 1st Board of Directors. The Summit is open to everyone but you need to be a resident of SDG, Cornwall and Akwesasne to vote for the arts & culture council. Register via FACEBOOK or send Bruce Davis an email: bdavis@sdgcfdc.on.ca if you want to attend this exciting and important event. Admission is FREE. BYOA - BRING YOUR OWN ART. We want ALL the artists and cultural organizers to bring examples of their amazing work. Your work will be displayed on easels or on the floor against the wall so don't bring anything you don't want displayed in this manner. If you are a musician or use a tool and or instrument for your craft bring your tool with you. REGISTRATION DEADLINE: SEPTEMBER 8th 2012. The event will included a series of guest speakers who will speak about what is involved in forming a regional arts council followed by a vote on SDG, Cornwall and Akwesasne's art council's 1st board of directors and will conclude with a free dinner and social hour. Bring your questions about arts & culture councils because there will be a timed Q&A for some of the guest speakers. Guest Speakers: Esther Bryan (Artist/Quilt of Belonging), Loree Lawrence (Ontario Arts Council Community and Multidisciplinary Arts Officer), Carol Feeney (Executive Director of Quinte Arts Council), and more TBA
